Italy World Cup-winning captain and FIFA World Player of the Year (2006), Fabio Cannavaro has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for breaching orders to keep out of his property after it was seized by authorities.
His home was seized after he was accused of tax evasion. The authorities claim he owes over €1m in unpaid taxes. He was arrested after he was caught going for a swim at his home's swimming pool with his wife and brother after breaking the lock authorities had used to lock his home. His brother and wife were also given custodial
sentences.
The 41-year-old Italian has appealed three times for the sentence, which has subsequently been suspended pending further investigation...
