In its first week of release, Black Rose moved 86,000 equivalent album units (83,000 in pure album sales), narrowly beating the 76,000 first-week bow of 2011's Open Invitation, which debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200.
His debut album Tyrese peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200; 2000 Watts at number 10; I Wanna Go There at number 16; Alter Ego at number 23; and Open Invitation at number nine.
