"Empire" bus tour was reported cancelled due to a state of emergency being called amidst the ongoing Ferguson protests.
The "Next Empire Artist" bus tour is a competition inspired by the hit Fox show "Empire," about a family in the music industry, starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. Fox sent out a bus, decked out with a recording studio, on a cross-country trip during which fans are given the chance to record their own versions of "Empire" songs. Contestants can also vie for a walk-on role on the hit show.
Fox announced the last-minute cancellation with a tweet that read, "The tour bus schedule has changed. The #Empire bus will now be in KANSAS CITY, MO (not St. Louis) Wednesday, August 12. Details to come." Following Kansas City, the 15-date tour will then continue traveling through Dallas, New Orleans and Nashville. Fox has yet to announce whether it plans to reschedule the St. Louis stop for a later date.
