Even though Chris as try to keep everything low after the shooting,he still found himself in the middle of a new criminal investigation, only this time around he is not the suspect. The rapper reportedly became a victim of identity theft.
Law enforcement reps have revealed the information that while Chris was dealing with his legal problems last year, one of his stops was Washington D.C. There he attended a hearing on assault charges, but before that the singer visited the San Bernardino County Jail.
Even though he spent only a day or so there, the procedure required a jail ID. Earlier this week, the very same ID was recovered by someone, who tried to sell if online for $10,000 or a better offer. Chris' attorney, Mark Geragos, stopped by the San Bernardino County Jail to get to the bottom of it. The Sheriff Dept.
launched an investigation and successfully tracked down the current owner of the ID, who
claimed he got the card from a friend who got it from a friend.
Cops are yet to determine how the ID got out of police custody.
