According to the report, singer Beyonce is reportedly in talks to play a superhero in a forthcoming Marvel movie.
The singer-actress, whose last big screen acting role came in the 2009 thriller Obsessed, is apparently wanted as a new recruit for The Avengers.
Marvel's superhero crew will return in two-part sequel The Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 And 2, which are set for release in 2018 and 2019. "We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel's existing catalogue of comic book characters," a senior Disney executive is said to have told The Daily Star.
Among the characters reportedly being considered for Beyonce are Marvel favourites Boom-Boom, Blink, Tigra and Hawkeye. If she signs up for an Avengers role, the singer-actress would join a bumper ensemble cast led by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. Beyonce's best known acting roles to date include 2002′s Austin Powers In Goldmember, 2006′s The Pink Panther and 2006′s Dreamgirls, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.
The latest Avengers movie, Age Of Ultron, was released in April 2015 and proved to be incredibly lucrative at the box office after grossing more than $1bn worldwide.
