Witnesses said the explosion heard was when church members threw out a package that looked like an improvised bomb, which was found in the church's toilet.

The bomb exploded, creating fears and panic far and near about a possible Boko Haram attack.

Members of the Police Anti-bomb squad were reported to have arrived at the scene.

Last week, two explosions occurred at a restaurant and a mosque holding an Islamic sermon, killing 44 people and wounding 67.

The terrorist group, Boko Haram was suspected to have planted the bombs.
