'Fantastic Four' Top Box Office Of The Week

The highly-anticipated reboot has been ripped by critics and even its own director, and preliminary numbers indicate very few people are actually bothering to go see it in theaters. Now Fantastic Four is only expected to bring in $28 million for its opening weekend. That's the same estimate as Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, so the battle for number one is likely to go down to the wire.

The new Jason Bateman thriller The Gift is looking at a number three debut with $10.9 million. Vacation could come in fourth at $8.7 million. Former chart-topper Ant-Man is trying to hang on to the Top 5 at a projected $7.7 million.

Minions, the animated Despicable Me prequel, could possibly bring in $7.3 million for a sixth place finish. Meryl Streep's new musical drama Ricki and the Flash is eyeing $7 million, which would put it in the number seven spot. And, despite there being a fourth new movie this week, Shaun the Sheep, holdovers are likely to round out the Top 10.

Trainwreck ($6.2 million), Pixels ($5.1 million), and Southpaw ($4.4 million) are all out-pacing the stop-motion kids film ($4 million) right now...
