American rapper-producer and
former member of the Los Angeles based hip hop collective Odd Future Thebe Neruda Kgositsile better known by his stage name Earl Sweatshirt, punches one of his die hard fan for disturbing him on stage..
Earl just kicked off his "2015 Ready to Leave Now" tour (schedule available at the foot of the article).
During his third tour stop in Sydney, Australia, a concertgoer approached the rapper from behind and wrapped his arms around his neck, reaching out for the mic.
Earl responded by punching the fan in the face before a couple of other people helped him throw the attacker off the stage....
Two reps for Earl issued a statement to Pitchfork explaining the situation...
"That fan is not hugging him. He approached from behind and his arms are around Earl's face and neck... Earl was attacked as far as any artist performing onstage would be concerned that is ambushed from behind, not hugged."
