Floyd Mayweather says Muhammad Ali is the fifth best boxer of all time... In his opinion Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez are better than Ali, as well....
Late last week, Floyd appeared on ESPN Deportes where he picked his top 5 boxers of all time. Self-confident as ever, he put himself on the pole position right in front of Duran. Spot #3 was reserved for Whitaker, while #4 got occupied by Chavez. Muhammad took the fifth spot on the "The Best Ever" list.
Floyd gave three primarily reasons for his decision. First, he pointed out that Ali lost to Leon Spinks, and the latter only had seven fights when he beat him. Second, Mayweather emphasized that Muhammad was only at one weight class. Last but not least, he suggested that Ali really lost all three times to Ken Norton, even though he officially won two of the bouts.
Nevertheless, Floyd did pay homage to Ali and reminded the viewed he was "the greatest for standing up in an era where black people didn't stand up for each other."
